Its not just building the engine, its more knowing which parts to use
like Crank, block, head casting , manifolds, turbo etc etc

yeah probably right Doug, I've still got it, but still not finished it and can't really do any more myself. It needs fuel injection plumbing in, and cooling system sorting out, windscreen fitting and it'll be complete. So I'm a bit stuck about it really. I've just put it up for sale on Lotus elan ...

Hi does anyone know of a good VAG (VW Audi) engine builder/tuner up north? as I'm having trouble finding one to build me a 1.8 20v turbo engine for my motorsport elise project.
I've tried Volks world in Fylde, but they don't return my (many) calls, so assume not interested.

No it doesn't Phil, it lives in an adjacent garage, I just wanted to get a shot of the Exige garaged next to the Elan. It would just about fit in when I move the plaster board behind it.

a couple more pics from last summer, it's being dismantled yet again to get fuel sender working properly....suppose it was too much to just expect stuff to work straight away!

Well, we knew the Exige would be a distraction!! I'm still spending more time in, on, and underneath the Elan than I spend in the Exige.
It's nearly finished, still messing with wires. My weak area, sadly.
I'll post on here when I get it fired up - a few months off yet.

Just recently had my removable Momo wheel fitted to Exige. It was more complicated than I expected and I needed a fair bit of re-wiring to get the horn sorted (2015 car).
