WANTED - Steering rack for Elise S1

Low-mileage rack needed quite soon, especially as the MOT is due by end July and the steering rattle is getting a bit too hard to live with. I also suspect my tracking is out of line again and wonder might that be due to the play in the rack that Danny at Pure Lotus pointed out when he serviced it a couple of months ago.
Q: Is it possible to recondition Elise steering racks? I've never seen any mention, but just wondered.

Yes it is possible, I think Tony Pearman may have done his or you could search on seloc

Hi Moggy. I've missed a couple on ebay - been in the wrong place at the right time - but I'm under a bit of time pressure as the MOT is only a couple of months away. Is Tony Pearman in the club? (Apologies if I already know you Tony )

I have a rack that I swapped out of my car last year because I thought it had play in it. This turned out not to be the case as the play turned out to be in the upper steering column, so I had to change that to sort the prob. See my post viewtopic.php?f=25&t=10590
You can have the rack for free if it is any use to you. However I think if I were to reuse it I would have it refurbed first.
