New owner, is this normal service from JCT?

New owner in Leeds :wavey I'll sign up proper when I get a chance to make it to one of the meets.

Anyway, just wondering if this is normal....

I tried to book a service through JCT600 website. I normally use specialists for previous cars but as this ones only 3 years old I thought I might see about keeping FLSH for some strange reason.

Anyway, website says they'll respond within 4 hours to confirm and answer any queries. 4 days later and nothing. I had the same issues when I tried to book a test drive, which Steve was quite apologetic about, but if this is normal then surely there must be some issues either with the system or with the way they deal with website enquiries.

Normally I would have called them but I'm working away and an email is a lot cheaper than the phone call from where I am.

Happy to be told it's a glitch and they're working on improving it but on the other hand it's starting to make me wonder if wanting to stick with dealer stamps was the wrong decision.

Hi Strawman, welcome to NYLOC :wavey

I've no idea about JCTs form, never used them for servicing but I've edited your title to have JCT in it as they do visit on here and hopefully will respond to your query :)

Hi welcome to Nyloc :wavey

I have not used JCT for my Elise, however Byron has posted up that they have just moved, sooooo may be that has something to do with the problems you are experiencing. :?

I am sure if Byron or Andy from JCT see the post they will respond. The guys are usually very helpful to all Nyloc peeps.

Hope this helps,

Doug :oldie
Old Lotus don't die they get fixed and if it cannot be fixed with a BIG hammer then you have an electrical problem.

If you turn up tonight, you'll be able to quiz them yourself, mano-a-mano :bravo

Buckles Inn, tonight from about 6.30, you'll be made welcome, just ask for "PT" and I'll introduce you to a few faces. :D

Cheers for the replies...

I got a couple of responses after I emailed them again ranging from 'never received it' to 'computer system was down' which, unfortunately, is giving me second thoughts.

Anyway, I would have popped along tonight but I'm in the Middle East with work at the moment.

Lot's of companies make the mistake of promising to reply to emails within x days etc. They rarely do sadly. Worst thing to do in any business is promise something you wont deliver, nothing winds people up more. I suggest JCT get someone fostered to check incoming queries.

And politely request you ignore this lapse as par for the course. The boys at JCT are a decent bunch in my experience.

I got a reply from Craig, Neil and Andy after I sent my second mail asking if anybody was going to reply (see post above).

I'm considering my options at the moment as the prices I got back for an Oil and Filter change made me spit my coffee out and being a Scotsman living in Yorkshire it needs a crowbar to get the wallet open at times.

I'll have to weigh up the pro's and cons of dealer v indy and if the dealer stamp is worth 2.5 times more.

Cheers for the reply, no hard feelings but in my job time is in short supply where customers are concerned hence my irritability at the lack of response.

Hi Andy,

never had my Exige serviced by JCT but they have done warranty work for me in the past which was excellent. Byron is a top bloke and really cares about your pride and joy. I always contact them by phone to book in the car.
I thought their servicing prices were negotiable. I hope they aren't too expensive or I will be taking my new car to a specialist. Which car did you buy.
And welcome.

Dave.

Yeah, prices were jaw-dropping at first. I thought they had been taking lessons from their neighbours at Porsche but they came back with a more reasonable price.

I bought an Isotope Exige S 240. It's not been a local car, picked it up in Arbroath.

I drove home with the windows open ;)

Not had much of a chance to drive it, been offshore. I'll give it some love when I get back with a trip to the Highlands.

Hi Byron.

Hopefully it wont be until the 1st annual service in April 2012. Gearbox seems fine at the moment. There is definitely a knack to driving the car, which I seem to have for the time being. Fingers crossed though.

Regards, Dave.
