Central at Barnsley get a lot of good reviews on here from members who've used them, I note you got that in your replies on SELOC.
If you're after a cheap job, and still by a decent place there's a small garage at Gildersome that a friend of mine has always used and he's really picky - I mean picky enough to not want a Lotus because they chip easily (yes, that look on your face now is the look I have when I talk to him about it). I don't have the details to hand but if you're after a top job recommended by everyone on here then probably Central's the place.

Probably too far east for you but Motorbody Cosmetics at Elvington have painted quite a few Nyloc cars over the years, including Linda Mann's Elise recently.
Like all good bodyshops they've usually got plenty of work on.
Central always get good reports on here as PT says.
I'm sure there'll be lots of good paintshops in West Yorkshire but haven't any experience of them.

Mines booked in at Central Garage, Birdwell. They are a friendly bunch.softlips wrote:Central are just off J36 M1, heading to Barnsley on your right. 01226 742064 owned by Neil and staffed by a great bunch of lads.
There's a selection of Morgans and Porsches in for painting also
They said you popped down the other week (I assume it was you) the morgan and Porshe have been complete, they are currently restlying a Range Rover (removing all the handles, and waist lines etc.) and sorting a Testorossa, amongst other thingsFraser.j.g wrote:Mines booked in at Central Garage, Birdwell. Back to the original post
example of Central's work
Old colour they did which was a 21 way flip

Current colour

These were full and I mean full strip downs and repaints but do not be put off by the amount of work they did here, they are happy to do small repairs in standard colours(y)
Cheers

I suppose it's just the grim reality that a paint shop doesn't need to look good to produce good work. I've seen my friend's Astra VXR - front stonechips blown in, his mum's Jaaaaaaag which I think was a door painted and then when she got her Lexus hybrid thingy, it was that white pearl paint and that was something on the back. Each one I've seen I've not been able to tell. Simon (the guy I know) is fastidious and because his family still take their cars to this garage I'd be inclined to believe the workmanship is still excellent.lee2104 wrote:I know you said dont be put off with state of the place but its hard not to!

Now then, I will have to stick a disclaimer in and say it's your money, and it's your decision. I need the front of mine painting and that's where I'll be taking it mainly based on cost but also because I know he'll make a good job. Will it be as good as the others? You'll never know but you'll be a few hundred quid better off - decisions decisions
Ive bottled it and gone with mid range price Emley Refinishers who ive seen work off and conme highly recommended albeit twice as much as Drigh! Thanks anyway for recomendation, i'll keep him in mind for anything in future. If you have yours done would you let me know how you get on pls??
