The K series is still a fantastic engine though, especially given it weight. HGF is the only real issue and it's not difficult to cure. I still think the power delivery of the VVC is second to none.

DIY £100!

Yeah gasket kit is £100 but i'm as much good at mechanical stuff as a artist wearing boxing gloves, plus AA P&L are paying £475 of the costs

had both its toyota all day long for me k series far to unrelaible and underpowered but depends on budget.

i have a elise 111r for sale as were after an exige its in the for sale section on here.

and thats a quote from someone who has a Toyota car for sale, but still has a avatar photo of a S1 with a Rover engine
all makes sense to me, but maybe you could explain yourself to everyone else on your comment.

yea selling 111r to get a toyota engined exige havent got decent picture to change it to yet but will do,
speaking as time served mechanic so probably have more knowledge about them than most on here, i wouldnt have another rover engined car as spent most weekends working on our s1.

Doubtful that you have more knowledge matey as TonyP says - the k series is a brilliant engine and sooooo easy peasy to work on

The beauty of the K is it's nice and easy to work on. £100 will get you the gaskets and fluids. There are loads of guides on doing it yourself online and should you get stuck loads on here would assist you.
