Don't be discouraged by the lack of responses, I think many Nyloc members would love an Elan restoration project themselves if they heard of anything.
Prices for good Elans are ridiculous imo and project cars seem in very short supply nowadays.

I see you have posted up on Lotuselan.net they do come up on there from time to time on there before they appear elsewhere.
Good luck with the search

Doug

Old Lotus don't die they get fixed and if it cannot be fixed with a BIG hammer then you have an electrical problem.

Hi,
Have you seen this FHC Elan at Paul Matty's. Doesn't look too bad but gear change is all wrong, even for a 5 speed conversion. It could have been done a lot better.

Thanks for this Doug,
yes I have looked a this one, and spoken with Matty's about it, but the gear lever set up looks unuseable to me, and I'm actually more interested in the green FHC they have in even though it's a Stromberg car.
Thinking of going to have a look in next few weeks, and at the red one in Oldham.
Thanks for the heads up though.

As a matter of interest if you are not too much into originality, there has been a guy come to the Buckles with a superb Lotus Cortina who has made a stromberg head into one to run on webers.stratosboy wrote: I'm actually more interested in the green FHC they have in even though it's a Stromberg car.

Well wouldn't you just know it, the picture I have was taken from the opposite side of the engine bay.

I do know the guy bought another stromberg head from a nyloc member with a view to doing the same thing (I think).
Regards,
Doug
Oh! almost forgot, no my Elan is a drop head, I wonder if 752, 753 and 754 exist ???

Hey thanks for posting this pic Doug, it's hard to see how the inlet manifold has been modified from this side, but looks as if the ports are still siamesed?
Great that somone has done this though.
I'm still looking at available elans. Between the red and green ones at the moment after discounting a dodgy history, S4 bodied S3, full restoration project.
cheers
Dave
