Hi, I'm new to Elise too.
I looked for a car with updated parts fitted.
I found my S2 on a 05 plate cat C. With 27 k
DVA VPHD engine
Fully balanced and rebuilt with fully hardness tested head
New everything from liners to bearings and Omega pistons
Ported head
Polished crank
Bigger inlet/Exhaust valves
Uprated valve springs
Goetze liners
Remote stat
Emerald ECU with loom adapter not splice and dice
Oil temp and pressure gauges
Shift light system
Throttle bodies
Dyno printout showing 209BHP
Lightened flywheel
Baffled sump
Full exhaust system
Quantum single ways 400/500 with helpers
Team dynamics with pretty fresh AO48s
Torsen LSD
Sparco snap off wheel
Hardtop
Braided hoses
I'm useing it for hillclimbing and sprints but also as a road car. It had front end damage all documented. I paid 13 k
The body works not mint but can but tidied up but it will be fine for what I'm going to use it for.
For me it was a no brainer as to buy a S2 in mint condition then modify it to this spec would be car plus 10 k so around 26 k.

Hi people.
Ok I bought one, lazer blue, 111s FSH, 3 owners, looks and drives beautifully, all services by F1 in Newcastle, barring its first service.
I will post up some pictures asap, but I'm going away for a week.
I love it, the sound the rawness.
Only issues so far is paintwork is damaged in two places, I'm seeing a crazing on the rear clam, about the size of a 1 pence piece.
Anyone recommend someone local.
Will be at the next meeting too, thanks very much for all your help.
Excited isn't the word!

Pleased you have got one.
Re the paint, if I were you, I would have fun in it first them get everything sorted at once (you will get chips especially at first when you really drive it all the time just for fun etc - so if crazy-ing is not noticeable it would cheaper to sort in one go etc)

Cheers, me too..
As regards the bodywork, I will although would like it sorting before the spring..
Thanks
Lee
Unless it is bad, just enjoy the car for the first year without worrying about chips knowing you will be getting them done over the winter break.
I did this with mine, had a few track days without a care (obviously did not want to bin/kill it but was not bothered re the odd chip) if I had it mint from day one I probably would nt have had as much fun getting to know/enjoying the 1st year of owning it
