The brake light switch if off a ford transit, I had to replace mine this year, it was about £12 and ford had it in stock (just for future reference)

Same as the hazard light switch?

The four light switches on an S1 are from a Peugeot

there has been a lot of discussion over which pug, was it a 205 or a 106, I can't remember which had the same dimples.

Does anyone have a proper database of alternate parts sources? That would save some time searching stuff out and money too.

Short answer is probably no, it doesn't mention S1 or 5 spoke AWI wheels

I bought it anyway (part no A132G0174F), as I really couldn't find anything which looked a better match. It does fit, but annoyingly has grey plastic around the badge rather than the black of the other three. Not sure whether to paint it black, or replace all the others.

Hi again everyone!

Looking at this thread it must have been nearly 4 years now of having my Elise! I'd say the best purchase of my life! I would definitely have joined this group properly but find it tricky to get to The Buckles Inn/Bridge Hotel at the right time. Is there a way to join remotely?

As I'm sure most here are familiar with I am gradually getting to know how to to do/fix/manage things, though I started from a fairly low point in terms of technical know-how. Currently am trying to get the speedometer working again. It was starting to flicker on and off, but now just reads 0 all the time. (The Trip Recorder and Odometer are also static.)

Has anyone changed/accessed the S1 Wheel Speed Sensor before? I'm hoping something has just come loose, but of course would be happy to replace if needed. Would it be easy to find if I take the wheel off, and is it likely to be the issue?

Of course there are many other things to look at, but that one seems a bit more urgent than the others

Any help is much appreciated!

It'll likely be a failed sensor, or something as simple as the wiring/connector to it. Check the wiring/connector first. If it's not that, you can get the sensor all of the Elise parts websites , at around £35. (lotus part #: A910E6939F)

Simple to replace - you'll find it on the nearside rear suspension upright - it'll be the only thing with a wire heading to it, in that area. Wheel off, you should be able to see it easily. attached with a single bolt, then should just pull out.

What a difference a few weeks makes.

But... since this thread picked up again it left me and others in admin wondering why on earth we didn't already have a plan as to what to blimmin' do for folks to sign up. Well I can tell you I'm quite well on with the test version of online joining and hopefully renewals. Once it's ready for the first, ahem, guinea pig.... I'll update this thread with a link.
