Each to their own. I'm a Lotus fan, a car fan am interested in anything with great engineering.
I wish there was more Lotus stuff organised but there seems very little interest. It's no surprise that many cars do only a few hundred miles a year.
LITP was a fantastic event last Summer and exclusively Lotus. How many members attended that?
It's quite ironic that one of the biggest threads of the year is membership renewals. Great that we have the members, pity that it is the only time we hear from them.
Ahh well. My weekends are booked up with car stuff till September. Hopefully I'll catch up with some of you at some point.

Does make you wonder if that's why some of the nyloc members don't go to runs out as often now? Just a thought and could be wrong of course.SimonE wrote:Totally agree Alan - Lotus is the only way![]()

I was there - great event if you like to get your car out of the garage and sit in the sun with dozens of others in view. Crap if you prefer to leave it covered up in your garage and do something else I guess.Rick101 wrote:Each to their own. I'm a Lotus fan, a car fan am interested in anything with great engineering.

This is one of the most active local car clubs that I've ever been a member of in terms of meets, runs out and shows... so don't get too disheartened!
I don't attend anywhere near as much stuff as I'd like - but that comes with working away (missed four straight months of Buckles due to that!) and then having limited time on a weekend to catch up with "home" stuff...
I'll move mountains to attend track days, my priority will always be with those... but now that the weather is turning nice I can get excited about some shows/meets too. Malton this Sunday is always worth an hour or two out of the house and CITP is a pretty decent way to burn a few hours too. I'll get signed up to that soon, and will join the NYLOC'ers ofc.

Ah well, at least this has raised a few comments , I didn't intend it to become a thread drift
I totally understand some members like and own other cars besides Lotus, that's great and I wouldn't want it any other way.
I get to a fair number of motoring events a year but have to balance it with family stuff and other interests. The days are long gone when it was all cars, football, cricket and music events

I don't know but when you have a front row of German cars like at Castle Howard on the NYLOC stand, it's prettyEl-ahrairah wrote:Does make you wonder if that's why some of the nyloc members don't go to runs out as often now? and puts me off going.

These events are great for families, problem is the lotus only has 2 seats so self defeating.
My lotus did not get out much, I love to drive it but I can't fit my stormtrooper or even the Jawa in it when I go out at weekends so it stays in the garage hooked up to life support under its cover.... Waiting for when Lucas and I have grown up
Our lass is not available this weekend and I am not aware of any con that day (at Harrogate the day before) so might actually make this on
