Elise Newbie Incoming....

Evening all
I'm on the verge of buying a S3 Elise but it is only the 1.6 engine.

Do many in this group have the same 1ZZ engine? What things would you advise me to look out for before I part with my money. Have many bothered tuning, apparently Superchip gains 15 bhp for £240.00. the full exhaust gets pricey.

I am very keen on getting the car to just open up more usability, I may miss the power..... I have been running kit cars for the last 5 years but with no roof and British weather.

Hope to get it soon and have a run up to the Motorist, I have been many times.

If you are bothered about power just don’t buy the 1.6.. if you want a sweet little runaround that’s nice to drive & easier to live with than a Caterham then crack on!

1.6 is the 1ZRFAE , The 1ZZ is in the S2 and is 1.8.. coming from a kit car I reckon you wont be imprressed.. get the 2ZZ . Or get an earlier elise S1 or S2 with a K series. ...tht``ll be more comparable to a kit car..
