As I have already said in my New Member post I will be along on the 23rd to join.
In the meantime I have a problem.

Nearly got kicked off Elvington due noisy exhaust. 98+db static check

Just been to check it today at PureLotus. Jay unpacked a new DB meter we measured 0.5M 45 degrees and GOT only 91db several times.

I like the exhaust (B&C original decatted) dont want to change but dont want to be kicked off Croft next month.

Anyone know of an accurate DB measuring device Locally of anyone got one who goes to the meetings??

Much appreciated thanks.

Hi Tom,

I am in the same boat as you,,, I have never had a prob with my car but last time out it tipped the scales at 101/102 db at Cadwell :shock , that was at 4500 rpm (at 4000 rpm it was 96db)

would be nice to get a reading from some other place just to see if my zorst is not falling to bits inside :down

Surprised it was that low with no cat, mine tests at 98dB with the cat fitted :shock

Was the car the same kind of temperature when you went to Jay ?

Atmospherics and car about the same temp.

For such a big difference suspect accuracy of meters.

I also suspect as you say 91 a bit low so will have to do something.

Will a sport cat do the job?
