Hi again and thank you for your welcome and replies. I look forward to coming to the Buckles in the New Year. Yes it was an expensive day out when I dropped in to JCT! I took delivery last Friday. I got JCT to do a smart repair to some slight rubbing on both seat outer bolsters. I have ordered a pair of black foam-backed cloth seat covers from Capital Seating. They make plastic covers for this seat but that was no good to me. The cloth material is said to be identical to the material found on Recaro Pole Positions which I am familiar with so am happy with that. The car seems to be immaculate with just a very small stone mark on the front bumper and slight scuffing to one of the rims. The only faults have I found (so far!) were a trim piece missing off the passenger side upper seat belt mounting. This revealed itself after some hard cornering, under the driver's seat. The alarm sensor at the top of the windscreen is loose. I have yet to fathom the Alpine media player / satnav. Can't even get it to delete the current route instructions or play more than one track on a CD.

The Evora replaces an E92 Alpina B3 BiTurbo. The new owner contacted me just before he went to look at it and bought it on the spot.I told him the mileage and history were all ok. Afterwards he informed me he was just starting a new job with Lotus Renault as a carbon fibre technician. Factory tour coming up!

I have an amusing story about Marinas. A great friend of mine has a bad history of cars back in the '80s..... Allegros, Dolomites and Marinas. He was living in the smoke at the time. One day he took his bosses Dolly Sprint out and promptly wrote it off before he reached the end of the street. Soon after he was driving around Muswell Hill in his white 1.3 Marina coupe and rear-ended another car......an identical white Marina. Both were written off. Afterwards he bought a proper car. An orange SAAB 96V4. At least he did a great service to BL.

There is a bright yellow Esprit (I think) in Copmanthorpe.

I'm amazed at the shoddy seats on the Evora. MY12 cars are better. Every car I've ever had with Recarro seats has suffered from the same bolster wear! I once put covers on and TBH they seemed to wear quicker - must have been the cover moving about.

Bits of trim under the seat on delivery is not very good is it? It's things like that that really rile me - it should have been seen FGS :down

Really glad to hear that your enjoying your launch edition evora. :D
RE-the piece of trim, I personally checked over that car and most certainly disn't see ANY pieces of trim missing. Next time your around pop by and i will rectify the problem :up

These pages will help regarding the alpine headunit.

The owners manual is on the support link at the very bottom of the page on the 2nd link.

Otherwise next time that you are at jct i will personally run through the headunit/portable sat-nav unit options. :wavey
Enjoy your lovely evora!!.
