It's rare you get that - most of the time it's kids saying 'nice car' or staring with a smile on their faces and such like.

Makes up for the odd idiot.

Must agree with Paul, I think the fact that Lotuses are still relatively rare on the road helps and of course kids love em :bravo We've had no bother since getting back into the Lotus world a long time ago. :oldie

A big hello from a forum newb in ..erm ... Warwickshire!

All's not lost though, I am a Yorkshireman, albeit not quite from the North of the county. I was born in Bradford, and spent my informative years in Bingley until university and work sadly whisked me away. I do have an apartment in Harrogate, my best mate lives in Addingham, and all my family are still in the Bingley area so I spend an inordinate amount of time on the M1!

Any road up - tenuous justification over, I hope to be re-kindling the joys of Lotus ownership soon after a break of 17 years (I did 40k miles in an S1 Elise in '98/'99) so I'll no-doubt return shortly with a number of predictable questions..

I know, I know - it was a (costly) mistake! I've had it for 6 months, but unfortunately it's not the car for me. Now on the hunt for an Exige V6 coupe..

Hello Matt, what its like up North? mmmm. Well you need to have at least a brace of whippets, there maybe some interbreeding, suffer from short arms (so as not to reach the bottom of your pockets), have yorkshire pudding and beef every Sunday, communicate in a way that others may find difficult to follow(both verbal and body language) a member of your family may have been the subject of a David Attenborough documentary, and generate a lot of gas from all orifices. These are just a few pointers, there are variants dependent on the area you are in.
Welcome
Stuart :coot

Just a thought mike
Is it the car they are shouting at?
