Since my Elise is my only car and my wife tends to carry all but the kitchen sink when we travel anywhere, I'm on the lookout for a good condition luggage rack.

All versions considered, but the one I'm really interested in attaches with 4 large suction cups to the rear deck and the buttresses. There was one on eBay a while ago which I missed and the owner claimed it was the original Lotus item - don't know if this is true, but I liked the design.

The true original Lotus boot rack had permanent mounting afixed to the inside of each of the buttresses but they later sold a version with four suckers which was (I think) a Bell & Colvill designed version.
With a bit of ingenuity as Dennis says carrier bags will take all your luggage for at least a week away (& Jane doesnt like to pack light either)

... carrier bags...
Thank guys, I'll try to track down the 'Bell & Colvill' version before attempting to persuade Mrs Mac that carrier bags are the new designer luggage 8)

Thanks, Softlips (that name sure conjures up some very pleasant thoughts!), for the hot tip ... but could you please point me to where I might find the luggage rack on SELOC? I've hunted everywhere, but as my wife says, I'm useless at finding the end of my nose!

One big bag that just fits in the boot and then just as many of those cheapo gym bags from places like argos/soccer sports with all the small stuff that you just put in all the little gaps around the big bag
Image
I have done a two week trip like this and it was fine

I have even had two people, a dog all my camping gear(tent, sleeping bags and matts n stuff) in the elise

If you dont mind looking like a homeless person when you walk into hotels/B&B's with all the bags around your body you will be fine

Thanks to all for your suggestions. I already have a bag which JUST fits through the opening PROVIDED 'her indoors' doesn't fill it too full (it's amazing how much space size 4 high heels take up!). But that leaves me with nothing but a spare shirt stashed behind the driver's seat...
I'll let you know what the conclusion to the hunt is ... and any further tips will be most welcome.
Cheers!
