I'm really excited about this! Been to every Gold Cup since they revived it as an historic event and always a winner. Put me down for both days. What is the set-up here? Is it parking on the infield above Cascades? There's usually a plethora of Loti there...

Cool.

Keep an eye out for our 2 esprits in the paddock area as we are supporting the 500 formula 3 racers. Will be camping for the whole weekend. Will hopefully pop over and see you guys.

Anyone fancy having some food at a local eatery on either Sunday or Monday evening? I can recommend a few good pubs in the vicinity...

See you Sunday, we will have to swap phone numbers before Sunday so we can have a chat, or are we all parked together :!:

Good call, Mark. It's Sooze's birthday a week on Friday so she's going to come along too. Looking forward to seeing you both.

I hadn't realised the racing didn't start 'til late. Usually they have some qualifying sessions on the Sunday. Gareth, are they just generic tickets or will you need our names / registration numbers?

I really am tremendously excited about this. And there's the excitement of Donington to get through first...

Remind me to stand at least 200 metres from you at the Le Mans Classic, I think you'll explode! :wink

Paul, that will be a very special weekend for me. If I get to do the track cavalcade it will be the culmination of a life-long dream to drive at Le Mans. When I was a kid I never wanted to be a Grand Prix driver, I just wanted to race at La Sarthe. I wanted to be in a Ferrari 512S pummelling the Mulsanne. I'll try not to irritate you guys.

Back on topic - are you coming to the Gold Cup, Paul? And if not, why not? It's not an early start, it's a beautiful location with some awesome driving roads in every direction from the track, there's a host of cracking cars including numerous Lotus 24 and 25 Grand Prix machines which rarely come out to play and I can point you in the direction of a cracking pub lunch at the end each day. It is literally the best way to pass a weekend.
