Replacing Front Gingercators

Hi Guys,

Firstly thanks for the advice with the engine issue I had with importing the car to Hong Kong,

After 6 months of waiting, rigmarole and bureaucracy the car was approved on Friday so I had a top weekend bombing around in it (not driven it for 5 years!), :woo

Just a quick question - I've bought some of the smokey-clear indicators from elise shop to replace the ginegercators and whilst the shop's website says it's a 5 minute job to swap them the internet seems to suggest it's a lot more time consuming (some sound very complicated),

I was just wondering if anyone here had swapped/ replaced the front indicator lenses?!

Do I access through the wheel arch or through the 'bonnet' opening!

Cheers,

Ben

Very easy, they just pop out, you can do them from the outside but safer for the paintwork if you stick your hand up and push them out. You can pull the liner to let your hand in.

Be careful the eBay ones tend to be a little brittle.

EDIT: Above was for the side repeaters - are you talking about the front ones? If so take the liner out.

They are a right old chew to change, but doable, just loads of reaching to get to the bolts and lots of swearing as you can't see the bolts you're undoing.

p.s. Martin is refering to the side indicators which are a doodle

TO change the fornt ones, turn the wheel full lock, pull the liner back stick you hand in and remove the bulb holder then hand in again and undo the tiny nuts and try not to loose them when they drop in to the clam.

Simple 5 minute job :bravo

NB don't forget the silver bulbs (light yellow) so the lamps continue to look smoked
