Door Striker Pin Replacement

Hi,

Got a set of replacement door striker pins to help with my rattly doors.

http://www.elise-shop.com/anti-rattle-d ... p-613.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Has anyone replaced these? What does the striker pin screw in to?

I know it seems like a really straight forward job, but when I start to undo the original striker pin it feels very loose on the other side of the frame.
My concern is that if I undo it to far and the nut on the inside isn't fixed I could lose it down inside the body somewhere.

Cheers,
Chris.

Mine just unscrewed and replacements screwed in place. Not sure how captive the rears were.

They're captive. Go for it!

be careful when screwing the new one in, as the captive nut on mine kind of twisted so the bolt was going in at an angle so I thought it was cross threading.

After a lot of goes I got the new one in but did not bother on the other side as did not want to risk cross threading :?

They are not captive... But held in place with a wire mesh arrangement.. :D (lotus and there tupperware... :lol )

Generally they just undo........ If the fixing does fall down pull the panel out from behind and you see/feel the hole.

Providing your not aggresive they are a doddle to do... :bravo
