Elan M100 rear lights renault type

Some p...t has driven into the rear offside of my m100 and having difficulty replacing off side rear lense. Can any one help please I have been tols they were originally fitted to a renault alpino ?

Hi Don, they're off the Renault Alpine a310. I would expect Paul Matty or Christopher Neil to have them if you want a new one, I don't think they come up on eBay very often.
Also try the M100 dedicated forum but I've forgotten what it's called

They do come up on ebay from time to time, normally through Douglas Valley Breakers or Steve Strange (same thing) but they're not cheap!!

I have just bought a S2 from ebay as a replacement but as bought unseen am very apprehensive. Are parts transferable from S1 to S2 ie front brakes and as it has been chipped can this be removed and transferred ??

Yes set a price a couple of days ago and received message this morning to say I was the highest bidder. Bought unseen so very apprehensive not picking up until new year !

Don I WAS CONTEMPLATING HAVING A STAB. I ASKED HIM A QUESTION ABOUT WHY HE HAD NEVER HAD HE ENGINE MANAGMENT LIGHT ATTENDED TO. HE SAID THE GARAGE COULDN'T FIND THE FAULT SO HE IS JUST RUNNING IT. ALSO THE A/C DOESNT WORK. MY QUESTION WAS NEVER POSTED ON THE SALES WINDOW. DON IT WILL BE A CRACKER NO DOUBT

No mention of engine management light as far as I can recall on his. Listing. Where did you get this info from ? He seems genuine but always suspicious when they say good condition bearing in mind its age. Had a situation where I travelled to Cheltenham in snow to but a mk 2 jaguar having been told good condition considering its age and when I got there when I pointed out that it needed a respray and new head lining he genuinely believed that for its age it was good but in creality was c...p !

Hi Paul, Thanks for the message. I have owned the car since February 2013. When I put the Lotus in to Sportmotive I asked them to investigate the management light but they could find nothing to cause it to come on, it has not caused a problem whilst I have owned the car. They know more about cars than I will ever know and I trust a Lotus specialist to keep it safely on the road for me. The light comes on and goes off as the car goes along and it makes no difference to the performance or the reliability. As I said in my listing my wife has had a fall in the garden and can no longer comfortably get in the car. I have owned two of these M100's both the same colour and enjoyed having them. If it is still with me at the end of the auction maybe a new wife would be the best solution. Hope this helps, best regards Colin
