If it is still, take a photo of it. If it moves, take a photo of it.

StephenM still has Boothy's old engine and box I think.

You can get him on NORLOG or SELOC.

"Simon, it's gone all slack when it used to be stiff..."

roughly how much £££ for a decent CR box ?

What's the real difference on track, I've read that link but I'm no expert on gearing and have never driven an S2. (drove an S1 sport 135 once and hated the gearchange, overly stiff and notchy)

Is it that you have to/don;t have to change up at certain revs?
long gone

Well my car has the CR box and i am used to it and love it, the only other time i drove another elise it was Sho's S1 (non CR box) and it just seemed like it took for ever to get up the revs....

But when he drove my car he said it was the first time (i think) he had drove a elise with a CR or box...and he just bounced it of the rev limiter all the time until he spun it :roll

it would be nice one day to see what a "normal" gearbox is like on A/B roads and then the Mways

I've lapped alongside a CR box'd 160 and any advantage he had in power was out weighted in the extra gear changes he was having to do IMO

Joff has a VHPD hooked uo to a normal box and apart from 2nd it's a good match for going quick - not had chance to hassle him down a twisty road yet :)

Matt (standard engine and box underdog :D )
