1991 Lotus Excel SE - Saginaw HP hydraulic hose

Hi,
Does anyone know where I can get a HP hydraulic hose for the power steering on the above vehicle? I am told it is fitted with a Saginaw power steering pump which was used in the latter days of manufacture. I have managed to get a Lotus replacement Saginaw pump but I would like to replace the HP hose as well at the same time.

Hi, Thanks for your inputs. I have tried SJS, who are usually very good, but no luck. I have been told Lotus stopped stocking these in 2004. Tried most other sources to no avail. I thought I would post this item, in case, any other member had been through this experience & come up with a solution. I am beginning to think that I will have to take the old one out to use as a template & see if I can get another one made. Alternatively, get the central hose section of the HP hose replaced on my existing one using the existing terminal ends.

If you are not far from Hull you will save some cash.

Hi All, Sorry for the late reply but I have had some personal medical problems but are now back on the road to recovery. The Saginaw problem has been resolved & the vehicle is back on the road. It was not without a number of problems which had to be overcome. I tried to post a precis of some of the work done with problems which were resolved but I do not think it was received. Thus if anyone is struggling with this problem then please contact me through NYLOC for assistance. One clue is use a Crowsfoot ring spanner, a long bar & a handle!
