Hi All
Can anyone recommend someone to map a modified K-Series in an S1 with an Emerald?
Ideally someone local (Yorkshire) - I can't get enough time off to travel down to Norfolk to see Dave Walker
Many thanks

Local Emerald Mapping
Try AET Turbo's
And suddenly I realised that I was no longer driving the car consciously. I was driving it by a kind of instinct, only I was in a different dimension. Ayrton Senna

Unfortunately I have had very poor service of late from AET. They repeatedly do not return emails or phone messages. When I did get to see them (after calling round) they had my Europa S on the dyno and charged me twice what they quoted as they said they had to do more runs. They then tried to sell me an aftermarket mapping device for £1000 to sort it. As an alternative they said they could buy in a software remap from their suppliers but never got back to me with a price despite more reminder emails.pearman00 wrote:Try AET Turbo's
They gave the impression they weren't interested.
I won't be going back.

Fair enough Tony. The guy I booked with and didn't respond to emails was Richard. The guys on the dyno were good at their job but more interested in a friend who came round to see them to talk about his new Audi company car.pearman00 wrote:

I don't know who the owner is but it's this type of business I feel really sorry for. If they had some element of business acumen, they could have developed a software map for the Europa S and capitalised on it through the club.
I think there's a tuning shop in Leeds somewhere I might try next (RS Tuning).

Let me know how you get one as this may be my next step if I risk the extra horses goign through the standard internals etc.glaslett wrote:Hi All

Alan if you are going to go down to rs tuning in armley.
Make sure that you mention me.
. And speak to paul.
Lee the lotus valeter's brother works there..
Need to pop round at some point for some more tweeking to my ecm mapping on my t4. And sort out a lotus/nyloc day out.
Good set of lads although they are more into mainstream cars i,e scuby's evo's focus rs, skylines,rs4/6 audi's etc.

I have an Emerald sat on the shelf awaiting installation/mapping. Perhaps with a few of us we could negotiate some kind of group buy...? I'd be interested to hear how you get along. One option seems to be taking a base map from Dave Walker to get the car running and then fine-tuning on the rolling road. Has anyone done this? I'm so IT illiterate, I've no idea how such a notion would work in practice...
I used Daytuner at Killinghall for my Duratec with Emerald ecu in my S1, this was after two trips to Northallerton! Ended up with a lot better map!

Bod.
That's interesting to know. TBH I thought that Daytuner were only into bike engined cars. When you say "a lot better map" how do you mean. More power or better drive-ability or both?
Cheers

Yes he is a bike specialist, The map was originally done at Northallerton, lots of coughing and cutting out (they had two goes at it) they had a power output at about 187 at the crank.elanman999 wrote:Bod.

Daytuner can fit cars on their rolling road, it was a bit tight on the rollers , the map that they did means that the car runs smoother and gives 155 bhp at the wheels.
I still have some tuning issues with the car, it runs a bit rich (mot fail!) and the sometimes it hunts a bit when waiting in trafic.
The map though was to get max power with the set up on the car, ie throttle bodies, HP fuel pump with swirl pot etc, def would use them again.
Will have to get along to the next meeting and rejoin, I want to get on some track days!

Bod, That's even more interesting, three RR sessions and it's still not perfect. Looks like the long trip to Watton might actually be cost effective.
