I need to strip the oil pipes out and replace the, to get it running again. Then debating whether to respray it now or Kane it some more first then paint it lol.
Tbh getting the race car finished and running is number one priority at the minute.
Also need to flog the BMW to boost cash flow lol.
Cheers
Alan

Not sure if it's correct but i was told that Landrover developed a better head gasket with steel dowels to stop anything shifting, i heard the Rover head gasket and plastic dowels was prone to failing again...
Not sure how true that is but it's worth checking out.
I'm always very careful to make sure my K-Series is upto running temp before exceeding 3,000 revs.. something else i'd heard from a few different sources, fingers crossed it's been fine so far.

I hope the head is OK this time, did they use a 135 head when they changed it. There was a sport 160 on Seloc a few years ago that someone had bought with a STD 118bhp engine in.
didn't notice the 2nd page,
I had a feeling it sounded a little wosre than first suspected.
Hope you get it sorted

Sorry no joy finding my old one, I suggest you get a rear one (form elise parts or similar) to sort recovery then get a new stainless post as the factory mild steel ones have a tendnancy to fail and rip holes in the front clam on its way out when the car is being pulled on the low loader

Rear ones don't rip out but they are a bloody nightmare to keep the thing in a straight line if your winching it onto something. You need to use a small pulley attached to the bed to make the process a lot easier.Dennis wrote:Sorry no joy finding my old one, I suggest you get a rear one (form elise parts or similar) to sort recovery then get a new stainless post as the factory mild steel ones have a tendnancy to fail and rip holes in the front clam on its way out when the car is being pulled on the low loader
