Hello.
My name is David Baldock, I live in Uckfield in East Sussex & I have a 1965 Mk1 Lotus Cortina that I have owned for the past 44 years.
I have a problem in that I want to take the car to the Donnington historic meeting in May but none of the three Lotus clubs I belong to (Lotus Cortina Register, Historic Lotus Club & North Kent Lotus Group) are taking a stand at that meeting. I don't want to leave the car in the public car parks so wondered if I could be accepted into NYLOC so that I could park with you?
Obviously I wouldn't be able to attend pub meets but I do also intend to attend the Oulton Park meeting later in the year if you are having a stand there?
I look forward to your reply.
Happy motoring.
David

I believe we will have a stand at the Donington Historic Festival and I'm sure a Mk1 Cortina would be very welcome. Hopefully Steve Winteridge will be along shortly to confirm our plans.
As for the Gold Cup, NYLOC had an annual invite from NORLOG up until 2012. Unfortunately MSV decided to try the 'Revival thing' by only allowing certain (I believe pre-1980) cars in on displays. I think on that basis NORLOG elected not to take up a stand last year. Not sure about their plans for 2013.
Both Donington and the OP Gold Cup are wonderful meetings though.

Hello.
I haven't yet mastered the art of posting pictures but my car was featured in the January Issue of Classic & Sportscar. Also a Google search for Classic & Sportscar obituary on Roy A Brown (designer of the Cortina) could produce a picture.
With regard to Club Lotus, I did apply for membership in 1969 but they didn't consider the Lotus Cortina worthy even though it was produced at Cheshunt. I haven't considered them since. Petty I know but that's the way it is.
I'll wait & hope I can attend with your good selves.
Regards.
David

Al,
Some of us are going to the HSCC meet (4,5 & 6th May) and SJW did post a two for one offer for those wanting to go. I'm going on the Saturday. We are having a NYLOC parking spot.
Cheers
John

I think it's organised by Historic Promotions Ltd. rather than HSCC in case a Google search gets confused! We have a two-for-one offer through NYLOC.

More 512M action this year, I hope!

Nyloc attendance at the Donington Historic was poor last year, so I would welcome any nice Lotus Cortina to park amongst us.
Directions to Lotus parking last year was chaotic, and even I didnt find our 'stand' until later.
So David, you really shouldnt have a problem parking with any of the Lotus clubs present, but you are welcome on ours.
Let us know if you need the 2 for 1 offer. I dont really want to post the code publicly here.
There is a deadline on the offer of Friday April 19th.
