Hi,

I'm a new member of the forum and just woundering if any body could help me with some advice on a few things please. I'm a owner of a exige S2 RGB which I've owned now for a year. I took it for its service yesterday and had a couple of advisories. I require rear tyres and rear disks / Pads.

Can any one recommend the best / cheapest place for a set of rear AO48 tyres???

I've currently got standard rear disks with Pagid RS 14 pads, were is the best place to buy these from and are these a good break pad for fast road use???

advice would be very much appreciated

thank you

Hello,

I always though the 14's were more for track use and the 42's, blue iirc were for fast road.
I'm not sure disc's make that much of a difference to brake performance, on road anyway. Worth getting a branded set though, not worth buying cheap if they fail prematurely.

Can't help you specifically on the tyres but I did see Seriously Lotus have an extra discount on (everything) at the moment so my be worth checking there first. Quick delivery from them but if you live that way (Hull) may be just as easy to pick up.

p.s Our Monthly meet Tue 24th at Buckles. I'm sure you could get plenty of advice there if you can make it.

Blimey, that email campaign only went out about an hour ago!

Just a minor correction, Seriously Lotus has 5% off everything on Black Friday (27th). I wasn't going to reveal this yet but with a little persuasion, Dave's added a coupon code for NYLOC to get this 5% off all week. The coupon code is working right now, it's NYLOC and you must be registered and logged in to use it in the Discount Codes box on the basket page (it shows up in the totals box).

I'll post up something official in NYLOC Chat a bit later but thought you might want to take advantage. Yes, you can pick bits up from Dave's place in Burstwick, just make sure you contact him first to check if he's in / stock levels etc.

You NEED 2 piece brake discs.....because they look cool :ymca

Seriously unless you track regularly or just want the look (I'm the latter :roll ) a decent brand of discs will do.

Some prefer 14's and some 42's (I have 42's as they look cool in blue), if you are happy with what you had sticking with them makes sense

I have had an email from deviously lotus re the discount so I think it is live now :clap

Oh and get your self booked on for the nyloc trackday in may to make best use of your purchases :up

Cheers people for that info :D

the previous owner had been on track a couple of times so guessing that's why he had the 14's in.

What sort of prices would I be expecting to pay for the pads and disks then please??? and tyres????

cheers

With regards to disks & pads I'd just have a chat with Dave @ Seriously Lotus as suggested above he's great for advice & his prices are always keen.
Personally I've been using Rs14's for years I've tried others & for various reasons returned to them but it's a personal thing & if your happy with what you have I'd stick with them.

For the 48's I'm not sure who's best at the moment but Dave may be able to help with them also?

Dennis you are quite correct yes that is what the email to 100% of my customers says...However if you read the post from Pault earlier we have added an additional code/coupon called NYLOC
This NYLOC code gives the same discount as the BLACKFRIDAY email code... BUT started earlier today and will run all week until midnight on Friday, as a thank you to the support I have received from my many friends in Nyloc.
So log into the website (or register if you haven't already, add items to your cart/basket, add the NYLOC coupon/code at the check out stage and get 5% discount on all stocked products.(discounts will not show on individual items, only on the total at check out) :bow :bow :bow :bow

Good evening Chris
Your exige is running carbon lorraines at the rear( couldn't see the fronts without removing from the calipers!).
Not rs-14(but these are what i priced up for you.(lotus only have 2 pad options)... I did mention this on the video i have to do nowadays.. :up
Speak to dave about your brakes and i personally would also change your rear tyres to toyo r888's instead( dave keeps these in stock.)
Unless you prefer the a048..

Pads i personally recommend pagid and performance friction.. Carbon lorraines are good but can have issues.. :shock
2 piece alcon discs look good or just fit one piece versions.. again Dave will guide you :bow

Nice car bye the way. :woo

Hi Bryon,

Cheers for the video received that today :)

Is there much difference between carbon Lorraine's and Rs14's ????

Iv been quoted £360 + VAT for the Ao48's today is that a ok price do u think???? £120 + VAT for the RS14's and £121 + VAT for sum EBC turbo grooved discs????

Is this ok pricing do u think???? Would u recommend the 2 piece Alcon discs then, would they look good???

Cheers

Personally i would fit the toyo r888 gg tyre from dave
http://www.seriouslylotus.com/wheels-tyres/tyres/toyo Plus they generally last a tad longer than the a048 tyre.

re the carbon lorraines i really like the braking performance but... there are loads of horror stories so in that respect the pagid rs-14 are very good solid performing pads, without the drama.

Re the discs are those prices per disc.?
