Tickets are now on sale in the MLOC store for what we hope will be another great event, with new roads to enjoy and a splendid new venue in Kedleston Hall. Once more we will be having 'car of the day' voted for by everyone, competitions for the kids and of course the Lotus themed raffle with some superb prizes, thanks to our many supporters.

Do a lot of people book a b&b for the weekend then? Seems like the option I may look at as it makes sense.

I believe so. I just went straight to the park last year (Chatsworth) but a couple of people went on one of the runs - different pace.

From what I've read they have 3 run types.. slow group - medium group - fast paced group.

I'd probably go for medium pace group.

you`d be best just doing a fast pace group probably. Its on a road with speed limits at the end of the day, not like a race track. I`d imagine slow would be the old classics, medium for the steady Elise drivers and fast probably most of us..Ha..

Great to see so much interest in our event :)
The runs are well worth participating in, they start early to make the best of the roads before they get snarled up with traffic. We have 3 run paces to try and accommodate everyone's style of driving and ensure they all get the most out of it. We do have quite a few who regularly make a weekend of it by stopping over on the Saturday night, most notably the Excel guys who are all booked in the New Bath Hotel at Matlock Bath for this year.
For those that have not been before, we have 2 run start points, one in Matlock Bath and the other in Buxton this year. The Buxton run is slightly longer and likely to be at a slightly more brisk pace than the Matlock Bath run as a result. Both runs will converge on Carsington Water where we stop for a pre-ordered breakfast from around 9:15 onwards. After that we have one mass procession to Kedleston Hall where we try to assemble the cars in model order. We have a car of the day competition and plenty to keep the children entertained too. We have some great raffle prizes too, thanks to our many sponsors so it's well worth purchasing a strip or two of those either in advance or on the day. The main prize is a day for two people with the Central Lotus race team.
Hope you decide to join us, if you have any further questions I'll endeavour to answer them for you.
Thanks
Phil

Thanks Phil that's very informative. I may try to stay over the night before the morning run. Saves tiring myself out driving there on the day and then joining the run.

What time do you need to be at meeting locations for the run?

Given your advice I'd probably opt for the Buxton run.

I'm not sure of the precise timings just now but previously it was 07:20 for a 07:30 briefing and run start at 07:40. The breakfast stop is a little later this year so the timings may vary a little to take that in to account.

Hi Phil.

Noticed when it says the below info: Not entirely sure what is meant by this? We would be planning to do the run from Buxton to then go and have a breakfast and then head as a group i'm guessing to kedleston hall.

Breakfast x 1 person (People doing the run only)

Hi Mike,
The breakfast stop at Carsington is solely for those like yourself who will be participating in one of the runs, starting either from Buxton or Matlock Bath.
We couldn't offer a breakfast to people who weren't participating in the run as invariably once they had their breakfast they would then want to join the procession from Carsington to Kedleston which would contravene the MSA permit we have to have for this type of event. Hope that makes sense?
