Hello all,

I’ve enquired about a very tidy looking Elise S1 that I’ve seen for sale and the vendor has sent various pictures, including some of the wishbone mounts - one of which shows some deformation, where the chassis box-section looks ‘pinched’ by the wishbone bolt. I just wanted to ask for opinions on whether this looks superficial or if I should avoid? I’m maybe being a bit fussy but I’m aware of how important chassis integrity is.

I know there are some knowledgable folk on here and greatly welcome any advice.

Cheers

that looks to me like it has been installed without the caster shims (or the necessary amount) and its crushed the box section in..

im sure that with a little persuasion and some new caster shims that will look like new again.

I would whip the wheel off and clean the area and check for any cracks in the box section..

As above it looks to have been put together without washers. check for cracks etc and those arms & brake flexis look corroded.

We also have an S1 for sale in the for sale section :)
