Hi, I am looking for some helpful suggestions. I have a S1 Elise with a k series engine.
Problem- the engine will run fine for about 30 + miles then out of nowhere it will lose power and stall. It won’t restart until it’s cooled a little then it will limp along and same loss of power and stall. If left over night it will start as normal and run fine again for a good 30+ miles before the scenario starts again.
Feel like a fuel delivery issue, I have changed the relay to see if that helps, no luck. Don’t believe it to be a fuel filter as that would give more instant and consistent results. Seems to be once it has got hot. Other thoughts have been cam or crank sensors but that proved to be not consistent so has been written off.
I have been left a bit stumped with where to go next and the car is left unusable, hoping someone has had a similar experience I can draw on.
Thank you in advance

I'm sure that there will be more knowledgable commenting before long but, I'd start with the fuel filter. If it hasn't been changed for a while it wouldn't hurt and they are cheap.
TPS is where I'd look next.

S1 Elise fuel system is pretty reliable. Looks like you’ve tried the most common failure component which is the relay (MFRU). As most s1 elises will be approaching 20 years old the fuel pump is the next item I’m afraid. It’s a bit of a pain to diy as the tank needs to be dropped out.

pull the fuel pump pipe off the end of injector rail when it wont start, see if fuel coming out, But be careful of been hot engine...
checked the fuel pump fuse? (left hand side of the engine bay near the boot)
The fuse has a tendency to corrode in the the fuse holder and can cause intermittent problems before the fuse properly blows.
