Just thought i'd mention the excellent aftersales service of JCT600. I rang lastnight at 5pm and spoke to Liam the service manager. He agreed for me to take the car in today as i had a clunking sound coming from the front of the car. The noise has been really getting on my wick for the last week. Byron the mechanic diagnosed the problem as loose brake pads, a common fault. He put shims behind the pads and hey presto the noise has gone. I cannot tell you how grateful I am to get rid of the clunking sound. It was really spoiling the car for me. A big thanks to Liam and Byron for their understanding and patience. The work was done under warranty. No hassle, just top class professional service.

Thanks for writing in about that, Dave, we like warts & all tales on here - if someone's done a good job it's equally welcome.
Btw, Liam isn't the service manager - he's the bloke on the desk. The service manager is Craig and he's been with JCT on the Lotus side since the Excel was on the production line

I've had nothing but excellent service from JCT. They're the only main dealer I've ever used who haven't left me full of rage and indignation. Great to read some positive remarks - and also to see the same on Pistonheads as well. There are some cynical old chumps on there!
Yes, service is excellent. Mine will be going in as soon as road salt finally disappears. I've lost a front hubcap due to differential expansion issues (probably due to trackdays). Anyone else had this issue on the superlight wheels ?
Quite a common problem on the larger centre caps. And trackday cars in general.
A blob of stickaflex or some thing similiar helps keep them in check.
Stunning car Mogg, especially with the hanger 300 upgrade
.
Thought your car was the Exige sport cup 260(special build) and not an exige cup 260.

Thanks Byron and that's an interesting point about the spec of my car.
I ordered a Sport 260 but unfortunately I was the only person to do so !
Lotus decided it was not cost effective to build only one Sport 260. I completely understood this so we reached a compromise and I have a Special Build Cup 260, which has the Sport 260 colour scheme and a couple of internal custom bits. The Sport 260 would have had a 'proper' rear wing, extended front splitter and I think a short ratio gearbox. Anyway I now have a proper rear wing courtesy of H111 and it does make a difference, especially at a fast track like Goodwood, as does the 300 BHP with no heat soak issues
