Hi, after 20 years of saving I have just bought an Elise S in starlight black. Only had it 3 days but love it. I plan on coming to a meet and joining the club as soon as I can.

One quick question, I had the car for 6 hours when a rabbit ran out and did a lot of damage to the front of the clamshell. Is it possible to remove just the nose or does the whole clamshell have to come off.

Many thanks in advance, Mike.

Hi & welcome, Mike :wavey Sorry to hear about the damage, especially as you've only just got the car! :-(

The next meeting is tomorrow evening, our usual venue which is the Buckles Inn on the A64 - come along if you can and I'm sure there'll be plenty people willing to offer advice and help. Just to pre-warn you, you'll probably end up with a list of jobs "while the clam's off you might as well do X, Y, Z" ... welcome to Lotus ownership :naughty

Cheers,
Dan

Welcome to the gang.

Put some tape over the damage and enjoy the car not worrying about chips etc, then get it fixed over the winter
Cheers

Welcome to NYLOC, and I know how you feel. Just spanked a bunny on the way home from Buckles, made a right mess :(

Seems to have cracked the bumper lip all the way across the central airway, grill and lights have survived. Going to Airmyn today to see how this adds to the cost of my already booked respray.

Imagine if this had happened post-respray :evil

That's pretty bad. what kind of speed? Sure it wasn't a hare for that damage? you travel same way back till you turn off selby way as I head howden way..

Let me know what Airmyn say/costs as I will potentially be taking my car in soon. Can I just rock up or make a phone call to arrange for them to take a look at my car and give me an idea of cost/work required?

Such a shame this has happened but as you say, would have been even more annoying had the respray just been done.
